Fitness-Walk across the Brooklyn Bridge at Postal code 10001, United States
Nov 24, 2009 (Tuesday)
7:00PM
Dear hikers and fitness walkers, I am going to lead a vigorous walk of 60-90 minutes. We will meet in downtown Manhattan, walk to South Street Seaport, then walk across the Brooklyn Bridge to Brooklyn, walk on the Brooklyn Heights Promenade, and back to Manhattan across the Brooklyn Bridge once more. Please note that this is not a touristy walk at a leisurely pace. Is is a fitness walk / power walk. We will walk as fast as is possible, given the circumstances. There will also not be dinner before or after the walk. This event is exercise only! If you'd like to do Nordic Walking and already know how to do it, you can rent poles from me for $5 or bring your own. We will meet somewhere in downtown Manhattan where a lot of subway lines meet, I will email the exact spot to those who have paid. GETTING A SPOT We will use our standard procedure this time: Please RSVP now with Yes or Maybe, depending on your level of certainty. The Paypal link will be posted one or two days before the event, when I am more certain about the weather. The Yes and Maybe RSVP's will be notified of this. When you are certain you can come, make your non-refundable, non-creditable prepayment to get your spot, until all spots are sold, but no later than Tuesday 5 pm. COST Meetup fee is $4.11. If you cancel after you have sent the payment, you will not get a refund or a credit. Optional Nordic Walking poles rental is $5. GEAR - Jogging or Walking sneakers - Exercise clothing - bottle of water - metrocard WEATHER FORECAST too early to be meaningful Cheers, Suzanne
